The retreat will take place at Kibbutz Tuval, at the “Beit Hakerem” seminar centre.
Exact location in Google maps
The nearest airport to the venue is Tel Aviv (Ben Gurion – TLV), Israel. Taxis from Tel Aviv Airport to Tuval takes approximately 1.5 hour without traffic, but they are highly expansive (more then 850₪).
Some low cost companies offer cheap flights to Eilat (Ramon Airport – ETM), but bare in mind that it is located 5.5 hours by car from the venue and the journey by public transportation is long and complicated and so not advisable.
Trains depart From Ben Gurion Airport (Tel Aviv Airport) to Karmiel. Sunday-Thursday every 10-60 min from 5:35 up until 21:35. Friday at 7:13, 9:13 and 11:13. Saturday at 21:27 only.
The ride takes 2.5 hours, and costs 48.50 ₪. You will need to board the train heading towards Nahariya and switch a train once or twice before arriving to Karmiel. This is the website for the trains, and it is available in English: Israel Railways website.
From Karmiel you can continue by taxi, a ride with other participants (the two simples options) or by bus. The ride form Karmiel to the venue in Tuval is short and takes 15 minutes.
Taxi from Karmiel will cost approx 65-70 ₪.
Buses to Tuval (from Karmiel) depart with quite low and challenging availability, and therefore we recommend not to use this option or to plan it carefully in advance. You can check the exact schedule on the Nativ Express website in this link but the website is not available in the English language (only Hebrew and Arabic). The bus line is number 35 (towards Pelekh), the ride costs 8.5 ₪ and you will need to ask from a Hebrew speaker to call the bus company so they can arrange in advance for the bus to arrive in the designated time (this bus line requires reservations in advance. If the reservation is not made then the bus will not show up!). It departs from Karmiel at 07:20, 11:05, 16:10, 18:40 and 20:40.
As the registration progresses, and towards the date of the retreat, we will assist in connecting participants for ride sharing / carpooling. In addition, we will post a list for ride shares in the Facebook Event.
From route 85 turn north to road 854 (towards Ma’alot). After approx. 7 km turn west to road 8544 and drive on it another 5 km until you reach the kibbutz.
In order to make it easier to find the place, you can use the “Waze” application on your smartphone, and enter the destination: “Beit Hakerem Seminar Centre, Kibbutz Tuval”.
Please note – Waze will offer to take you through the village of Dir al Asad opposite Karmiel with winding and very steep roads.
We recommend not to drive through the village, but to continue straight at the Karmiel junction and turn left (for those coming from the west) to Route 854, which ascends to Tuval in a convenient way. Do not turn to Route 8534 Deir al-Asad / Ba’ana. But turn to route 854 – Ma’alot / Tefen.
